One of the most elite credit cards on the market just got a little extra. The iconic American Express Platinum has just raised its annual fee to $895.
Naturally, that leaves everyone wondering — is it still worth it?
Long story short? Yes — if the perks actually perk you up, that is. 🤑
While the fee is only rising by $200, the new benefits more than make up for it. Amex now claims cardholders can unlock over $3,500 in annual value — that’s more than double from before. And that’s without factoring in the standard but oh-so-valuable cashback rewards.
In addition to all the preexisting perks, here’s what’s being added:
🏨 Hotel credits for Fine Hotels + Resorts or The Hotel Collection stays via Amex Travel bumped up to $600 per year
🌍 New hotel status — complimentary Leaders Club Sterling Status with The Leading Hotels of the World (hello, upgrades and free breakfasts)
🍽️ $400 Resy dining credit — up to $100 per quarter at Resy-partnered restaurants
📺 $300 digital entertainment credit — now includes Paramount+, YouTube Premium, and YouTube TV (plus Disney+, Hulu, WSJ, and more)
🧘♀️ $300 Lululemon credit — up to $75 per quarter for in-store or online purchases
🚗 $120 Uber One membership credit — plus the usual monthly Uber Cash
💍 $200 Oura credit — for Oura Ring purchases via OuraRing.com
Oh, and the card’s getting a makeover too — a sleek, mirror-finish design for newly issued and reissued cards.
The new annual fee applies to all new applicants now and will roll out for existing cardholders upon renewal starting January 2, 2026.
